Tax Warrior Inc. is a full service regional accounting firm with headquarters in Toledo, Ohio. We are a team of dedicated, experienced and hard working professionals.
We chose the name Tax Warrior from a cultural perspective not a militant perspective.. It is well settled that “The legal right of a taxpayer to decrease the amount of what otherwise would be his taxes, or altogether avoid them, by means which the law permits, cannot be doubted.” (Those are the words of the United States Supreme court in 1935.) In other words, a taxpayer’s only obligation is to pay the least amount of tax legally due. You may arrange your financial affairs to accomplish this goal. This is the battle the Tax Warrior has taken up.
We do not advocate or participate in evading taxes or by avoiding taxes illegally. We do use the Internal Revenue Code, regulations and the court cases to provide you strategies to reduce the amount of your tax obligations. The founding fathers of the Ming dynasty were tax warriors. Tax Warriors were the precursors of the Japanese samurai warriors. The most famous tax warrior of all just may be Lady Godiva as she caused quite a stir as she rode through town crusading for lower taxes. Today’s Tax Warriors are:
Charles Zagara, JD, CPA
Charles has been a certified public accountant in the State of Ohio and a member of the Ohio Bar since 1985. He has battled as a tax warrior not only as a certified public accountant but also as a practicing lawyer and retail business owner. This background has given him a unique perspective on taxes, accounting and financial issues. He graduated with honors from the James J. Nance College of Business at Cleveland State University and from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. From 1996 through 2003 he helped his father and brother expand their supermarket. Sales went from 9 million dollars a year to 25 million dollars a year. With the mission accomplished he went back to the tax, accounting and law practice. Prior to forming Tax Warrior Inc. and purchasing Royal Barber and Company he worked for an international consulting company custom designing and implementing tax strategy plans for closely held businesses of all sizes and industries.
Royal H. Barber, Jr.
Royal is the chief public accountant for Tax Warrior Inc. After earning a business degree with an accounting specialization from the University of Toledo he went to work a national accounting firm. In 1972 he struck out on his own and began the 35 year task of building Royal Barber and Company. He applied the same concepts and principles used by the national firm for their large publically traded clients to the closely held businesses in northwest, Ohio and southeast Michigan.
